    Excellent quality, excellent price

The versa frame cage is the basis of a rig I assembled from SMALLRIG and I am very happy with it so far. I am using a Canon 70d along with Tascam DR-60d for audio, and mount a shotgun mic and wireless lav on at all times, It works great so far for weddings, commercial shoots, and run 'n' gun video journalism type stuff. Highly recommended.

One thing I was worried about was battery access, the photo shows a possible lack of space on the bottom of the cage, but when you get the assembly you'll find you can adjust the side arms connect to the baseplate, giving you enough space to make for easy battery access.

I had trouble figuring out which rail base to go with, I chose the U-base (1674) and was able to secure that to my Manfrotto quick release plate. I had a lot of fun tinkering with the rig to get it just right.

Love this cage - extremely versatile which is great if you're like me and use any variety of cameras from shoot to shoot. Have used it on 5DMKIII, as well a7s - no qualms.
Thanks to the hot shoe clamp on the top plate, it's a snug fit that makes your camera a solid sturdy filmmaking machine. Build up and down as you please, hasn't failed, and doubt it will.
Fantastic product, that lives up to its name. Bonus is that it comes with a great price tag as well!
